Tutor and student at workstationThere’s never a dull moment working at UltraSoC! We have aggressive expansion goals for this year, and are already recruiting actively for our Cambridge and Bristol offices. We are also setting up offices in Poland and the USA and hiring king-pin staff in each of those locations. Watch this space for news of expanding eastwards, of impressive new customers in all corners of the world, and compelling partnerships which are also in the works right now.

‘BrightSparks’ Electronics Weekly Awards with Steph McGovern

It’s no secret that recruiting is challenging in our sector. To help overcome this challenge, alongside all the “normal” recruitment activities, we invest significant effort in building relationships with universities, and are a strong supporter of UKESF, for whom we are delighted to be sponsoring two student awards: the UKESF’s Embedded Systems Award and the Automotive Electronics Competition organised by the AESIN (Automotive Electronic Systems Innovation Network) and the UKESF.

One of our UKESF interns, Ricki Tura, was the UKESF Scholar of the Year in 2018 and we are thrilled to announce that he has also recently won the Electronics Weekly BrightSparks Award.

At UltraSoC we don’t believe in bureaucracy, and genuinely try to make everything as simple as possible. And we give people the freedom to think out of the box … new product ideas, personal development (both formal and in-company), the ability to change roles internally etc. We believe in having fun – the two most prominent topics on our Slack feed this morning are the Cambridge beer festival and the Bristol Post article stating that Bristol people are the happiest in the nation! We work flexibly, with core hours between 11 and 3, enabling our team to effectively balance their lives.
