Research Council Prize for UltraSoC at Royal Society

COLCHESTER, United Kingdom - UltraSoC Technologies has been tipped as a key future business winning a trophy and £10,000 in the prestigious Research Councils UK Business Plan Competition 2005-06. The competition has been running over the last 12 months and started with around 140 entrants from universities, higher education institutions and government funded research laboratories throughout the UK. Yesterday at the Royal Society in London, the elite 7 finalists presented their businesses to a panel of judges and UltraSoC Technologies was announced as runner-up.

The Minister of State for Energy in the Department for Trade and Industry MP Malcolm Wicks who was at the gala event, praised the finalists on the quality of their business propositions reminding them "of the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to the growth of the UK economy".

UltraSoC's CEO Karl Heeks added, "We are very pleased to be recognised for our technical and commercial promise in this highly prestigious competition".
