FAE/Technical Support

UltraSoC is looking for a highly capable and dedicated addition to their team. UltraSoC’s ground-breaking silicon IP is already changing the way systems and software created around complex SoC devices with multiple heterogeneous processors are debugged.


  • Supporting sales with technical inputs to customers
  • Supporting sales with design-in
  • Supporting customers with development and use of the product
  • Answering queries from prospects pre-sales
  • Doing demonstrations to customers at shows or events
  • Presenting technical seminars & workshops
  • Acting as liaison between customer and factory
  • Understanding customer requests & ideas; ensuring these are captured and fed back to factory for consideration
  • Developing scripts, tools to support demonstrations
  • Developing scripts, tools for customer use to help make the product easier to use
  • Establishing processes in UltraSoC for product release and NPI
  • Writing documentation (app notes etc)
  • Establishing processes for customer support and customer portal (eg Salesforce’s SupportForce)

Skills & requirements

  • Must have good understanding of semiconductors and IC design process and tools
  • Must have experience of IC or FPGA Design (Verilog, VHDL)
  • Must have experience of programming (C, Python)
  • Must have experience with debugging and tools (JTAG / software debug, e.g. Lauterbach or DS5)
  • Must be able to use development tools, Linux and IDE (Eclipse)
  • Must be comfortable dealing with customers and presenting technical subjects
  • Must have good communication skills (written & in person)
  • Must have good inter-personal skills
  • Ideally have some experience with software or web eg setting up support tools or customer portals (Bugzilla, Supportforce or similar)
  • Must be a “self starter” with initiative and capable of managing their own work
  • Will involve international travel (25%)
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

Software Engineer

We are looking for a capable, dedicated and enthusiastic engineer who is passionate about embedded debug to join our team.   The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on our Eclipse based tools, integration with 3rd party tools, demo development, customer support, and to help shape our novel silicon IP.

Skills & requirements

  • Excellent skills for software development using languages such as ‘C’, C++ and Java
  • Experience writing software plugins for Eclipse or building GNU tools would be beneficial, though is not required
  • Excellent skills for scripting using languages such as Python and or Perl
  • The role is open to candidates with a good university degree and any level of industrial experience provided a keen interest in software development and or embedded electronics can be demonstrated
  • An appreciation of hardware is also essential for this role and some knowledge of RTL languages like Verilog, System Verilog or VHDL would be valued
  • The ability to work as part of a team and under pressure is essential
  • The right to work in the UK
